Above the Las Vegas Strip: My High Roller Experience
Las Vegas is a city that always seems to have something to see, but one of my most memorable experiences was seeing the city from high above the Strip on the High Roller.
I had seen pictures of the giant observation wheel before, but being inside one of the cabins and slowly rising above Las Vegas was completely different. As the High Roller climbed higher, the views became wider and more impressive. Looking down at the Strip while surrounded by the open sky gave me a perspective of Las Vegas that I could not get from the streets.
And the journey to get there was part of the experience too.
Taking the Monorail to the High Roller
Instead of driving, I decided to take the monorail from my hotel toward the High Roller.
I actually enjoyed this part of the trip more than I expected. Taking public transportation gave me the chance to sit back, look out the window, and see a different side of Las Vegas along the way.
There was something nice about not having to worry about driving or parking. I could simply enjoy the ride and know that I was making my way toward another adventure.
When I arrived and started walking toward the High Roller, I could already see how enormous it was. Standing underneath it made me realize just how high it would take me.
It felt like the adventure had started before I even stepped inside.
Rising Above Las Vegas
Once I got into the cabin, the High Roller slowly began to move upward.
At first, I was focused on watching the buildings around me. But as we climbed higher, the view kept changing.
The Las Vegas Strip began to look smaller and smaller below.
The hotels, lights, roads, and buildings stretched across the landscape, creating an incredible view of the city. The higher I went, the more I wanted to keep looking out the windows.
It was honestly stunning to see Las Vegas from that high up.
A View That Goes Beyond the Strip
What really surprised me was how far I could see.
From the top, I wasn't only looking at the famous Las Vegas skyline. I could also see the mountains surrounding the city.
The combination of the city below, the mountains in the distance, and the huge open sky above created a view that felt almost unreal.
Las Vegas is often pictured as a city full of bright lights and busy streets, but from the High Roller, I could see something much bigger.
The city was surrounded by a vast natural landscape.
That contrast between the modern skyline and the mountains was one of my favorite parts of the experience.
At the Top of the High Roller
When the High Roller reached its highest point, I took a moment just to look around.
Everything seemed so different from up there.
The streets looked tiny. The buildings looked completely different from above. The mountains appeared to stretch endlessly into the distance.
I found myself looking in every direction because there was so much to take in.
I took photographs, but at the same time, I wanted to put my phone down and simply enjoy the view.
Sometimes pictures can capture what a place looks like, but they don't always capture how it feels to actually be there.
For me, standing that high above Las Vegas and seeing the city and mountains from that perspective was something I will remember for a long time.
A Different Side of Las Vegas
One thing I enjoyed about this experience was that it gave me a different way to appreciate Las Vegas.
On the ground, the city feels energetic, colorful, and constantly moving.
From above, it felt much calmer.
I could slow down and appreciate the size of the city and the landscape surrounding it.
The High Roller wasn't just a ride for me. It became a chance to pause and look at Las Vegas from a completely different angle.
The Journey Made It Even Better
Looking back, I am glad I chose to take the metro from my hotel instead of making the trip only about driving to the attraction.
The ride there, the walk toward the High Roller, and the experience of going all the way up became one complete memory.
Sometimes the little parts of a trip end up being just as enjoyable as the main attraction.
The metro ride gave me time to take in the city at street level, while the High Roller gave me the opportunity to see it from the sky.
Together, they created a really fun experience.
A Memory Above the City
My High Roller experience was one of those moments where I simply wanted to keep looking.
The higher we went, the more beautiful the view became.
Seeing the Las Vegas skyline below, the mountains in the distance, and the wide open sky above was truly breathtaking.
It reminded me that sometimes the best way to appreciate a city is to change your perspective.
From the streets of Las Vegas to high above the Strip, this was more than just a ride—it was a chance to see the city in a whole new way.
And for me, even getting there by metro became part of the adventure, making the whole experience even more memorable.
